Adolescents are gaining access to film and imitating the stunts preformed by the Jackass Franchise and Matrix paintball

Today the non-partisan, non-profit Parent Television Council issues a warning to all parents that Jackass the Movie should be considered dangerous and not be viewed by children. Across the country adolescents are again imitating the dangerous stunts performed by Johnny Knoxville and his crew during Jackass the Movie.

Aurora, CO –“In the movie theater, acts such as driving a golf cart down huge hills, into statues, and over fences, gets laughs. But it's not at all funny to the people at Kennedy Golf Course, who see dozens of their carts returned to them damaged. ‘This is very damaging, what they're doing to our business, to the community,’ said Kennedy Golf Course manager Brad Cohen. Cohen said the boys smashed the carts into fences and other objects, just like in the film, and doing some $10,000 in damage.” –Denver ABC News

Manchester, NH – “The gross-out stunts weren't limited to the screen at a showing of ‘Jackass: The Movie’ in Londonderry this week. Police said that three Derry, N.H., teenagers interrupted the Monday night show by throwing food at other patrons and urinating on the walls of the Apple Tree Mall Cinema.” –Associated Press

Clearwater, FL -- “Instead they found a car full of teens with a paintball gun and video camera, who had decided to imitate the stunts in Jackass, the new movie of outrageous pranks and stunts that topped the box office rankings last week. ‘One of them had seen the movie with other friends,’ [Clearwater Police spokesman Wayne] Shelor said, ‘They just said, Hey let's do the same thing.’” –ABCNews.com

“Our previous call to theater owners and Paramount to be more diligent has fallen on deaf ears. These three incidents show what the PTC has been saying all along: When adolescents view Jackass the TV show and Jackass the Movie it incites them to imitate dangerous and costly pranks. The PTC warns parents against allowing their children to view this film,” said L. Brent Bozell, Founder of the PTC.
